Best to you this Thanksgiving. Our turkey is brining in its cooler, and is just about ready to come out and go into the oven. The sweet potatoes and stuffing are prepped and ready to be heated. The cranberry sauce is finished, the pumpkin pie is complete, and we have rolls rising on top of the countertop.
We have so much…Thanksgiving in our cozy little farmhouse, three happy dogs, cuddly cats, and beautiful views out our back windows. With all that we have, we can’t help but think about the 17.2 million Americans who don’t have enough to eat. These are people we know…they’re not strangers. They are part of our community.
Today while we’re all thinking about what we have to be thankful for, why not vow to do a good deed for someone who doesn’t have much to be thankful for?
This weekend, why not bring some cans of food to your local food pantry? Many grocery stores have a program that allows you to purchase food for the needy, and they’ll put together the food bags and deliver them for you. On Monday, why not call your kid’s school, and ask if there’s a needy family you can sponsor with warm coats, toys, gloves, and food?
Best to you this Thanksgiving.
