I got my flu shot this week. Suggestion: get your flu shot AT NIGHT, so you can go straight to bed and sleep it off. I got my shot in Wednesday morning, and was semi-sick all day, feeling achy and tired.
The weather has been cooling off around here, and we were able to invite the dogs to accompany us in the car to run errands. Otis wasn’t sure if he wanted to come along. He weighed his options, and eventually turned around and walked back to the house.
That semi-yawn is a sign of anxiety. Otis is not a fan of the car. In the end, only Addie opted to go with us. She likes to drive the back country roads, and ride with her head out the skylight.
I visited Galveston’s Rosenberg Library on Monday. Rosenberg Library was severely damaged when Hurricane Ike rolled through here a few years ago. The bottom floor was flooded, and most of the books were destroyed. It was nice to see that restoration is coming along nicely. The bottom part of the library is not open to the public yet, but we could see many positive signs that the place will soon be back to normal. Meanwhile, I took this picture of a stained glass window for you…isn’t it nice that this window survived the storm?
Dave’s birthday is tomorrow. He has requested a hummingbird feeder and food. I’m also getting him a tool belt. He’s hopefully not reading the blog today…otherwise I’ve just given away the surprise. When he’s working on a project around the farm, he’s always looking for his carpenter pencil and measuring tape, and I figured if he’s wearing tool belt, then they’ll never be misplaced again. I thought if he doesn’t want to wear the belt, then I’ll appropriate it for myself.
This is why I don’t kiss Otis on the head:
Have a nice weekend.
